PENDLETON – Wtechlink and the city of Pendleton recently struck a deal to allow the local Internet provider to set a small communications device on city property.

Under a lease agreement, Wtechlink will pay the city $1,200 a year to place a wireless communication equipment on the water tower adjacent to Olney Cemetery. The agreement is good for five years and includes language for annual cost of living adjustments. Wtechlink also agreed to pay the city $20 a month for electricity.

Wtechlink owner Byron Wysocki said the tower will provide wireless Internet access to certain parts of the city while keeping down business costs.
