- McKay Creek Estates resident Howard Anglin hands out candy to Ramona Rogers, 4, Annabelle Rogers, 3, and Arie Rogers, 7 months, during the annual Trick or Treat Carnival at the Pendleton assisted living facility.
Pumpkin bowling, face painting, bean bag toss and other games were enjoyed by hundreds of visitors during the Trick or Treat Carnival at McKay Creek Estates.
More than 200 children, adults and even some pets were dressed in costumes during the annual event held on Halloween at the Pendleton assisted living facility. In addition, several residents dressed up and handed out candy. Executive director Noemi Wiseman said the smiles on people’s faces were priceless.
Winners of the costume contest were Olivia Endersby, 5 months, Paris McClelland, 9, and the adult winner was Kathy Gilbertson. Gabriel Madrigal, 5, won the candy corn guessing game. He was only 14 off, with a guess of 325 pieces of candy in a jar. And, Joan Glidewell, a McKay Creek resident, garnered the most votes for the pumpkin painting contest.
Wiseman expressed appreciation to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success, including Taylor Fitzpatrick, Savannah Vaugue, Anthony Macri, Juan Torres, Gianna Gentilli, Imagene Norris, the daughters of Nicole McClelland and students from the ASTRA Club.
“It is always nice to see happy faces coming in to enjoy trick or treating at our community,” Wiseman said. “Everybody in costumes surely touched the lives of our residents.”
