Nellie Crist Neuffer

March 1, 1923-June 9, 2005

HERMISTON – Nellie Crist Neuffer, 82, of Hermiston, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston after suffering a stroke early Tuesday at her home.

A memorial service for Mrs. Neuffer will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Hermiston. Burial will be 4 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mrs. Neuffer was born March 1, 1923, at Rustberg, Va., to William and Genevieve St. John Crist.

She had been a resident of Hermiston since 1964 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Oregon Trail Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. She had been active in PEO, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Agape House, Friends of the Library, Head Start, and Emblem Club for some 40 years.

Survivors include a son, Bill Neuffer Jr., of Salem; daughters, April LeeAnna Zemke of Renton, Wash., and Kim Giglio of Covington, Wash.; brother, Melvin Crist of Hermiston; three sisters-in-law, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Trail Chapter of Habitat for Humanity or to the First United Methodist Church in Hermiston.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.

Darrel Gene Trumbull

Sept. 16, 1934-June 8, 2005

Word has been received of the death of Darrel Gene Trumbull, 70, of Vancouver, Wash., on Wednesday, June 8, 2005.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Trumbull will be held later.

Mr. Trumbull was born Sept. 16, 1934, at St. Francis, Kan.

He was a salesman and lived in Portland from 1940-1945.

Survivors include sons, Derrick, Tyler and Brad and six grandchildren.

Omega Funeral and Cremation Service of Portland is in charge of arrangements.

THOMPSON – Mildred “Millie” Thompson, 85, of Hermiston, died Wednesday at Ashley Manor Care Center in Hermiston. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermiston. Arrangements are by Burns Mortuary of Hermiston.
