Wedding: Logan-Berlin

Kara Moore Logan and Richard Aaron Berlin were married Sept. 27, 2008, at The Shemanski Fountain, Park Blocks in downtown Portland. The ceremony was performed by famed NPR journalist Susan Stamberg of Washington, D.C., a friend of the groom. The couple exchanged platinum Tiffany wedding bands.

Kara is the daughter of Karen Logan of Hermiston and Dennis Logan of Kennewick, Wash. She is a 1994 graduate of Hermiston High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication in 1988 and a master’s degree in education administration in 2001 from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif. She is a major gifts officer for the Robin Hood Foundation in New York City.

Rich is the son of Ira and Martha Berlin of Washington, D.C. He graduated in 1988 from The Maret School in Washington, D.C. After earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992, he attended a master’s program in political theory at the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, England in 1995-96. He is executive director of Harlem RBI, a New York nonprofit organization for youth, and founder of DREAM?Charter School.

The bride wore a silk satin strapless Ulla Majia “Natalie” gown and a French net veil with a ribbon edge.

A reception was held after the ceremony at the Portland Art Museum in The Mark Building. After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple is at home in New York, N.Y.
