FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Goldie Vernita Planting Vice, 98, of Fairfield, Calif., died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at her home.

Ms. Vice was born March 11, 1912, in Adams to Hilma Sofia Korpela and Aldric Arnold Planting. She moved with her parents as a teenager. She was a free spirit and a creative mind with many interests.

Survivors include daughters Sharon Sager of Holliston, Mass., Suzanna Mark of San Francisco and Allene Vice of Fairfield, Calif.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three nieces; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by brother Allen Planting, sister Frances Planting and son Charles Roos.
