HERMISTON — The Hermiston Adventist School is preparing to rock its 95th birthday.

Leading up to the celebration, students have been painting rocks and placing them at McKenzie Park, Riverfront Park, the Oxbow Trail, Butte Park and Funland Playground. Those who find a rock have a couple of options — bring it to the birthday celebration to be entered into a drawing for a $95 gift card (five will be awarded and the winners must be present) or take it to the school during regular business hours to receive a $95 discount on the first month’s tuition for new students enrolling for the 2025-26 school year (registration must be completed by July 1 for the discount).

The 95th birthday celebration is May 18, 3 p.m. at the Hermiston Adventist School, 1300 NW Academy Lane. The event will include fun, music, cake, ice cream and school tours. In addition, a slideshow presentation will feature memories from present and former students.

Also, the school will accept items to be donated to local unhoused residents. Those planning to attend are invited to bring socks, toiletries, snacks, apples and oranges to add to the donation bags.

Hermiston Adventist School offers a Christ-centered program that focuses on the students’ spiritual, academic, physical and social abilities. It provides educational programs for preschool through eighth grade. Students of all faiths are welcome.
