THE DALLES — Greater Oregon Behavioral Health Inc. announced the launch of 2024-25 scholarship programs at Blue Mountain and Treasure Valley community colleges.

According to a press release, the scholarships will provide incentives and financial support to students seeking careers in the behavioral health field. The following scholarships are available:

• Blue Mountain Community College: four $2,500 scholarships for students enrolled in Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer or Associate of General Studies programs studying psychology, anthropology or sociology. For more information, email Elizabeth Corbett at ecorbett@bmcc.edu.
• Treasure Valley Community College: four $2,500 scholarships for students who are pursuing a degree in addiction studies. For more information, email Cathy Yasuda at cyasuda@tvcc.cc.

GOBHI’s goal is to develop more behavioral health professionals in response to the shortage in rural and frontier communities. In 2024, GOBHI created a Workforce Development Endowment to fund future programming, career and educational opportunities.
