BOARDMAN — Boardman residents can give feedback on uses and improvements for local parks and recreation.

The city and Boardman Park and Recreation District are conducting a 13-question survey on the city’s website, focusing on existing park needs, new park development desires and recreation center expansion priorities.

City departments are collaborating on the Boardman Park Plan 2035, a master plan that will guide the future of parks and recreation in the community.

According to the city’s press release, gathering feedback from residents to help guide improvements to the parks and recreation system in Boardman will help shape the future of their parks to better meet the community’s needs.

On Jan. 29, the city also hosted a Community Open House at city hall to discuss the future park plan and gather direct feedback from local residents about community priorities, opportunities and areas for improvement.

The input from the public forum will serve as a roadmap for enhancing parks, recreation space and other programs, according to the city press release.

The 13-question survey is another step in shaping the city’s plans.

Anyone interested in providing input can access the questionnaire on the city’s website. It closes on Friday, Feb. 21.
