UMATILLA COUNTY — The Valley Giving Guide recently kicked off its seventh season.

Hosted by Blue Mountain Community Foundation and United Way of the Blue Mountains, the campaign provides donors with an easy way to make donations to their favorite nonprofit organizations. In addition, gifts made through the Valley Giving Guide are increased through the “boosting program.” According to Christy Lieuallen, United Way executive director, and CEO Kol Medina of the BMCF, an additional 10% was added to each donation during the 2023 campaign. Donations during last year’s campaign exceeded $4 million.

Each of the 136 nonprofit organizations — supporting everything from animal welfare, recreation and the arts to fighting hunger, preserving history and economic development — listed in the guide are headquartered in or provide services in Umatilla County in Oregon or Walla Walla, Columbia or Garfield County in Washington. Donors can select up to 10 nonprofit organizations per transaction.

The 2024 campaign continues through Dec. 31. For more information or to make a donation, search www.valleygivingguide.org. For questions, call Lieuallen at 541-276-2661 or Medina at 509-529-4371.
