UMATILLA COUNTY — Umatilla County confirmed six new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the county total to 79 cases, a press release stated. 

All six cases announced Wednesday are currently self-isolating and recovering at home, but the county didn’t report whether any are known contacts of previously confirmed cases or not. 

Only two residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, one less than was reported Tuesday. 

According to the press release, 41 people who have tested positive are now considered recovered, while 37 are still considered active. Someone is considered recovered when they have gone at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared and at least 72 hours without any symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and diarrhea.
