Scott “Scotty” “Papa” Leon Goodman (62) of Pilot Rock died in Pendleton on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017.

Scott was born April 15, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Ivan Goodman and Dorthy Vaughn. He lived in Milton-Freewater, Oregon; Shasta, California; Dallesport, Washington; and, just recently, Pilot Rock, Oregon.

He graduated from Pilot Rock High School in 1972. He graduated from Blue Mountain Community College in 1998, earning a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for the Army Corp of Engineers.

He married Cindy L. Goodman on Sept. 6, 1975. They were married for 41 years.

He enjoyed fishing, archery hunting, and was an avid gun collector.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy L. Goodman of Pilot Rock, Oregon; daughters, Penny (spouse Jason) Gibbs of Pilot Rock, Oregon; Amy Evers (life partner Brandie Perry) of The Dalles, Oregon; brothers, Brian Goodman of College Place, Washington; Mark (Linda) Goodman of Union, Oregon; and two grandchildren, Rhyanne Oates and Coley Gibbs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Dorthy Goodman.
