Beverly Jean (Cullen) Gibson passed away at her home on December 3rd, 2016, at the age of 75. She was surrounded by a multitude of love and prayers from all those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Cullen, her mother Phillis Wunduke and her stepfather William Wunduke. She is survived by her husband Walter Gibson; her daughter Jeannie Reeder; sons Randy (Kari) Gibson, Chris (Luanna) Gibson, Robert (Lisa) Gibson and Pat (Jeaninne) Gibson; her grandchildren Daniel, James, Ryan, Aimee, Taylor, Randi, Addisyn, David, Savannah, Issac, Amanda and Hudson; one great-grandchild, Liam; her sisters Susie (Joe) Ponish and Cindy Weise; an aunt, Lillie Drake; and several cousins, nieces and nephews whom all loved her.
Beverly was born August 31st, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska. Her family later moved to California where she would one day meet her future husband, Walter Gibson. They married in 1961 and had their first three children before moving to Oregon in the early 1970s. There they would have two more children to complete their beautiful family.
Her many talents included singing with the Sweet Adelines Quartet, cooking, writing poetry, and creating artwork. She owned and operated her own beauty salon and later become an instructor at the beauty college.
Beverly had an endless capacity of pure and honest love. She knew that housework could always wait another day, but spending time with those she loved was most important to her. Some of her greatest pleasures in life were simply comforting a little one by gently rocking them in her chair for hours at a time.
Our love for her will never end and we will continue to cherish the many memories and life lessons she left with us. Through our grief we will try to find solace in the knowledge that our time apart from her will be brief, as she now prepares our eternal home where we shall all meet again.
Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers who showed such compassion and love while caring for her.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 11th at 12 p.m. at the Pendleton City Hall Community Room at 12:00 p.m..
