Ritchie L. Hibbert DMD, 64, of La Grande passed away from complications of lymphoma on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Grande Ronde Hospital. A viewing will be held at Loveland Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 25, 2016, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the La Grande Church of Latter-day Saints Stake Center on Saturday, November 26 at 10:00 a.m.

Ritchie was born June 17, 1952, in La Grande, Oregon, to Eugene and Gertie (Nebeker) Hibbert.

He graduated from La Grande High School in 1970 and went on to study at Eastern Oregon University and earned a general studies degree, and OHSU where he earned his degree in dentistry.

Ritchie was involved with Boy Scouts of America, coached pole vaulting at Pendleton High School, and was devoted to his church serving as bishop and branch president. He also loved to spend time working on his mountain land with his brothers and grandchildren. He touched many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.

Ritchie is survived by his wife Debbie and five children: Jennifer Hibbert of Kennewick, Wash., Carley Hibbert (Keith) of Walla Walla, Wash., Eli Hibbert (Marie) of Bristow, Va., Lori Howard (Ryan) of La Grande, and Eric Hibbert (Shelly) of Missoula, Mont. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and siblings Larry Hibbert (Janet) of Sugar City, Idaho, Dallas Hibbert (Cheri) of La Grande, Janet Buss (Paul) Debuke, Iowa, Karen McDaniel (Jim) of Ashton, Idaho, Ivan Hibbert (Lynnette) of La Grande, Milo Hibbert (Kathy) of La Grande, and Dixie Hendrickson (Leon) of La Grande.
