Abigail Lynn Hughes was born Sept. 27, 2015, in Coos Bay, Oregon, to parents Nat and Angie Hughes. Her family brought her home to Brookings where she lived and thrived for five months and three weeks. Suddenly, on the morning of March 22, 2016, she was called into the arms of the Savior.
She is survived by her parents Nat and Angie Hughes; brothers Sam and Isaac Hughes; her grandparents John and Susie Hughes of Clackamas and Pat and Vickie McNamee of Irrigon; and two great-grandmothers, Ruth Hughes of Clackamas and Jo McNamee of Madras. She is mourned by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends on both sides of the Hughes and McNamee clan, the law enforcement agencies of Curry County, Del Norte County, Oregon State Police, Brookings Police Department and the community of Brookings-Harbor where she found and returned love during her short but fulfilled life.
A celebration of Abigail’s life was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Brookings Harbor Christian Church, 777 Fifth St., Brookings. Private interment followed the service, and a reception followed at His Place, 18881 Cornett Road (off Cape Ferrelo) in Brookings.
