Dennis Eugene Horning passed away at his home in Hermiston, Oregon, on March 29, 2016, at the age of 70.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Krista; daughters Brenda, Dawn, Jodee and Ashlee; grandchildren Andrea, Adam, Ashlyn, Kaylee and Cody; brothers Fred and Pius; and his two best friends, Charlee and Rockee. He is preceded in death by his son Kristopher, sister Dora, and brother George.

Dennis was born on November 6, 1945, in Hermiston, Ore., to Adam and Regina (Gisinger) Horning. He graduated from Hermiston High School in 1963 and studied business at Kinman Business College in Spokane, Wash. He married Krista Sue Loftus on October 20, 1973, in Hermiston.

Dennis managed grocery stores throughout the Pacific Northwest, at times running his own store.

Dennis was accomplished at baseball and remained passionate about the sport throughout his life. He was a hardworking individual and a dedicated husband and father. He strove to ensure that his family was loved and taken care of. He was an amazing grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Burns Mortuary chapel in Hermiston.
