Edna L. (Kreutz) Murtishaw Auburn, Wash. January 26, 1926-March 10, 2015

Edna L. Murtishaw (Kreutz), 89 of Auburn, Wash., passed away on March 10, 2015. She was born on January 26, 1926, in Holstein, Iowa. Edna was the daughter of Magdalena Charlotte Kreutz and Martin Kreutz.

Edna graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Cherokee, Iowa, in 1942, and in 1944 she joined the Cadet Nurses Corps. In 1972 she completed nurse’s training and was a nurse for ten years.

In 1945 she married Ernest Copp, and later remarried Fred I. Murtishaw in 1954.

Edna enjoyed gardening, bowling, traveling in her motor home across the country and to the Washington and Oregon coasts, to wildlife refuges with her granddaughters and spending time on Hood Canal with family. Among her hobbies were antiquing and collecting angel figurines.

She is preceded in death by husband Fred Murtishaw, son Martin Murtishaw and brother Jim Kreutz. She is survived by daughter Victoria Schwennsen, granddaughters Charlotte and Elaina Schwennsen and brother Dennis Kreutz.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Klontz Funeral Home in Auburn, Wash. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. She will be buried in the Tahoma National Cemetery.
