Robert Loren 'Bob' Hale

Robert Loren Bob Hale was born on February 11, 1930, in Pendleton, Oregon, to parents Loren Howard Hale and Leoma Rhodes Hale. He died on August 20, 2014, in Richland, Washington, at the age of 84 years.

He was raised and attended school in Echo, Oregon, graduating from Echo High School in 1947. Bob was united in marriage to Jane Adell Graham on January 21, 1949, in Pendleton, Oregon. He worked construction at McNary Dam for a few years before going into farming. He worked on local farms until starting his own farming business on Buttercreek Highway, Echo, in 1975.

Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Oregon Wheat League, and a longtime member of the Echo School Board. He enjoyed RVing with Adell, the beach with his family and time at his and Adells beach condo on the Oregon Coast in later years. He also enjoyed building model airplanes, was an avid reader, and was an avid history buff. Bob cherished the time with Adell and with his family. He was a farmer and was truly a devoted family man.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years: J. Adell Hale, Echo, Ore.; sons Douglas Hale and his wife Sheryle, Richland, Wash., Robert Bob Hale and his wife Kelly, Hermiston, Ore., and Rick Hale and his wife Jody, Echo, Ore.; daughters Christina Hale Wilson and her husband Don, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jackie Nelson and her husband Steve, Bellingham, Wash.; sisters Hazel Hale , Portland, Ore., and Maria Duncan, Lake Oswego, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Echo Cemetery, Echo, Oregon.
