BRIEFLY: Crawford signs with Portland State

GRESHMAN Former Pendleton High and current Mt. Hood Community College standout pitcher Kristen Crawford has signed a letter of intent with Portland State University.
Crawford, an all-NWAACC pitcher a year ago, has helped the top-ranked Saints to a 24-0 record. She boasts a 1.08 ERA the best in the NWAACC and a 12-0 record in the circle.
The 2012 Pendleton High graduate was also a force for the Buckaroos.
Crawford led Pendleton to a 5A state championship before being named 5A pitcher of the year.
Crawford will transfer to Portland State in the fall. The NCAA Divsion I Vikings, members of the Big Sky Conference, are currently 7-28 with a 2-9 conference mark.
Condon/Wheeler’s Logan ranked No. 2 in the nation
CONDON When Condon/Wheeler senior Ellie Logan recently chucked the javelin 155 feet, six inches, she didnt have the top throw in Oregon.
So far that mark ranked No. 2 in the country per Athletic.net, the nations foremost prep track and field information site.
Logan, the defending 1A champion in the javelin, ranks second behind Chrissy Glassman of Park City, Utah (160-6).
Logan isnt the only Oregonian in at the top, though.
Roseburgs Gabrielle Kearney ranks fourth (144-11), Hermistons McKenzie Byrd ranks sixth (143), Lakeviews Delaney Hall ninth (139-8) and Jesuits JoJo Ananouko tenth (139-2).
