Czech composers featured in symphony concert

PENDLETON An evening of lively orchestral music by several Czechoslovakian composers is featured in the upcoming Oregon East Symphony concert.
The Czechs Have It! includes Slavonic Dances by Antonin Dvorak, A Fairy Tale, Op. 16 and Scherzo Fantastique, Op. 25 by Joseph Suk and Concert for Two Bassoons by Johann Vanhal. Featured soloists on bassoon are Dr. Richard Simon and Kirsten Boldt-Neurohr. Bruce Walker will conduct the concert.
The program is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Vert Auditorium, 400 S.W. Dorion Ave., Pendleton. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students/seniors or $45 for a family. A reception will follow in the Vert Club Room featuring refreshments and no-host wine and beer from The Prodigal Son Brewery & Pub.
