Kenneth Gene Stelk

Kenneth Gene Stelk, born August 7, 1958, died September 28, 2013. His father Gene Raymond Stelk passed away eight years ago and mother Maralyn Janell Stelk resides in Kennys home town of Pilot Rock. Kenny loved spending time in the mountains hunting, fishing and spending every weekend at the cabin he and his family built three years ago. On Friday nights he would load up some supplies, dogs, a few family members and off to the cabin.

Kenny gave it his all. There was nothing that Kenny did that he didnt give it everything that he had. Kenny worked hard and played even harder. Kenny was very mechanically oriented and over his adventurous life frequently put back together motorcycles, 3-wheelers and snowmobiles that became disrepaired. The disrepair arose from very harsh use of these recreational vehicles. He also restored a 1960s snow cat so he could tour around in the mountains in the winter. Kennys wife Cathy is a strong person who helped facilitate Kennys activities and is truly a great woman and wife. While Kennys life was cut way too short he could not have been happier hunting caribou in Alaska with his son Eric. They saw thousands of caribou, shot a few, and shot a few other things. Eric said he had not seen his dad happier in many years.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cathy; sons Andy and Eric; grandson Brock; mother Maralyn; sister Kathee; brothers Kurt (Ros) and Kelly (Cindy); and nephews (Sam and Will) and nieces (Janell, Kristen and Helen).

Graveside services will be Saturday October 5th at 1:30 p.m. at the Pilot Rock Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to follow.
