-
Local bluegrass band Cabbage Hill will perform a pair of concerts this week at Pendleton Center for the Arts.

A sometimes changing cast of musicians known as Cabbage Hill will take the stage during a Round-Up week tradition.
Like many bluegrass and roots music ensembles, the composition of the band varies slightly at times. This years rendition will feature old favorites as well as some new faces.
The shows are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. at Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St. Tickets are $10 each and can be reserved by calling 541-278-9201.
Mandolin player and band frontman Ron Emmons of Hermiston brings a depth of knowledge to the stage, as he has been playing and performing bluegrass since the 1960s.
Playing music with Emmons since the early years, Rollie Champe will join the band for the first time, playing standup bass and guitar. His son, Brent Champe, will perform on banjo.
Dan Emert of Pendleton is a former National Old Time Fiddle Champion. He has shared the stage with many bluegrass, roots music and country greats, including Charlie Daniels.
This years performances will be the first to feature two female voices. Emily Emmons, Rons daughter, has been singing and playing bass since she was 8 years old. She also plays piano, banjo and guitar. Shes a favorite of the Round-Up performance guests and has joined the band several times over the past six years. Holly Boyer has been singing vocal harmonies with Emily since they were little girls and will bring
her own expert musicianship to
the stage.
