U.S. Senate Confirms Michael McShane For District Of Oregon Judgeship

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Michael McShane to serve on the U.S. District Court for Oregon.
Judge McShane was a Circuit Court Judge of Multnomah County and is filling a position that has been vacant for over a year.
He was originally nominated for the seat in 2012, but did not receive confirmation vote by the Senate.
President Obama renominated him on January 4 of this year.
Federal district court judges are nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
They serve lifetime appointments.
