New owners of Main Street salon

PENDLETON? The CK South Salon, at 415 S. Main St., has new ownership. Between the seven stylists, there is more than 157 years of experience working on hair and nails.

Donna and George Murdock bought the salon June 1.

My husband and I bought this business because we wanted to keep downtown Pendleton vital and alive, Donna Murdock said. Thats really important to us.

George is a Umatilla County commissioner, so Donna handles the retail end of things. The salon offers hair styling, nails, facials, waxing, wig and extensions services.

Running a salon became a lot more appealing when, over the years, the Murdocks came to love the atmosphere at CK?South.

We walked into this salon, and weve both been coming here for almost 14 years, and everybody knows your name,?Donna Murdock said. Its like Cheers.
