‘The Hot Chick’ makes an ugly, unfunny flick

The new film “The Hot Chick” starring Rob Schneider is another film proving “Saturday Night Live” stars, whose best bits are three minutes, cannot carry feature-length films.
This time out the people-changing-identities theme has a high school cheerleading snob, played by Rachel McAdams, changing places with a two-bit thief, portrayed by Schneider.
McAdams plays her cheerleader with downright cruelty. She treats all around her as if they are inferior and enjoys humiliating them in the process.
Schneider’s thief is, at best, mentally challenged. His opening scene is a showcase of ineptitude.
Somehow when identities are reversed their personalities come from unknown characters. The cheerleader, as she deals with her plight of being a man, gets all of the people whom she treated with cruelty to help her get back to the person they all hated. The thief becomes effective in his (her) pursuits.
The action is so predictable that most audience members will be able to come up with the situations long before they develop.
As a comedy, there is not enough to laugh at. There are intermittent scenes that will cause a guffaw or two, but these are way too few and far between.
The “Hot Chick” equals a cold flop.
