CONDON – The Condon volleyball squad edged a tough Sherman County team in four games Friday.
“It was very tight and Sherman County played very well,” coach Shandie Marker said. “They did a good job covering.”
The Blue Devils took the first game 25-22 and had some good sustained rallies. The second game ended 26-24, and the Condon girls were on a roll.
“The girls were playing as a team, backing each other up, and doing exactly what they were supposed to do,” Marker said. “They were having fun.”
Angela Anderson had 14 good serves in the match, while blockers Jessica Snider and Katie Humphrey combined for four blocks and two ace blocks in the match.
Sharon Hawk contributed four kills for the Blue Devils.
“We were moving and covering,” Marker said. “Our blocks were on and we backed each other up.”
Sherman County took the third game 25-17, but Condon came back to seal the victory 26-24 in the fourth game.
“These girls play as a team,” Marker said.
Condon is in action again today in the South Wasco County Tournament.
