CONDON – A graveside service for Skip Perry will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at the Condon Cemetery.
Mr. Perry, 63, of Condon, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, following an accident at the I-5 truck stop near Aurora while he was attempting to repair the air brakes on his unloaded log truck.
He was born March 27, 1941, at Walla Walla, to Daniel and Jessie Sumerlin Zacharias. He grew up at Walla Walla and Estacada. He graduated from high school at Estacada, then attended college for three years.
He served with the Army for one year during the early 1960s.
He lived at Condon and was employed as a truck driver throughout the Northwest.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, and was a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed his horses, cows and dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jette of Condon; daughters, Karen Ricci and husband, Louie, of Estacada; sons, James Perry and wife, Karen, and Russell Perry and wife, Carrie, all of Newport, Wash.; brother, Robert Fry of Portland; sisters, Ellen Jensen, Roberta Macki, Rowena Parks and Mary Hayter, Georgetta Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Russell Keys.
