Don Russell is a lifelong resident of Morrow County and has a proven track record as a successful businessman. As such, I’m writing to support him in his bid for a Port of Morrow Commission seat.

Russell’s accounting and business experience would be a valuable addition to the port.

Most Popular

He has been active in the community and has served on the Port Budget Committee the last few years.

Russell has the experience and is the right age to make a positive impact on port efforts to grow the business community in Morrow County.

Join me in voting for Don Russell.

Hutchison right woman for the job

Blue Mountain Community College faces a number of important questions and is dealing with a number of significant issues.

The BMCC Board of Directors needs members who can foster and enhance productive change. BMCC needs board members who can work toward building strong relationships with the staff and employees, along with working with all members of the BMCC community in a cooperative and a productive manner.

While “a good education” may mean different things to people, candidate Elizabeth Hutchison will help open up communication. This alone will strengthen the college and build goodwill for the college’s future that we all share.

Please join us in the support of Elizabeth Hutchison for the Pilot Rock seat on the BMCC Board of Directors.

‘Crazy for You’ a great production

Are you one of the lucky ones who saw the musical “Crazy for You” that was a joint production between the College Community Theater and the high school drama department?

If you could have attended and did not, I can’t begin to tell you what you missed. What a fabulous show and how fortunate we are to have such talent in Pendleton.

It is my understanding the cast was chosen in December, and it had been working hard for the past four months. The performance certainly showed a tremendous effort.

The cast and the orchestra should be commended for all of their efforts, especially the two leads – Melissa Wilde and Jairod Collins. John Remington, the producer of the show, should be commended, too.

Keep up the great work. You make us all feel proud to live in Pendleton.

Elect Russell to Morrow port board

I was especially pleased when Don Russell announced that he was a candidate for the Port of Morrow Commission.

Russell has lived his entire life in Morrow County. Along with running a very successful business and raising a family, he has always found time to give back to his community.

Russell has the experience, qualifications, knowledge and understands the needs of Morrow County to be an outstanding Port commissioner.

I strongly recommend you join me in casting your vote for Don Russell.

Time for change at BMCC

Voters have an opportunity to change the destructive direction that Blue Mountain Community College is headed by electing responsible people who will hold the administration accountable.

Voters in Zone 6 have the opportunity to elect Teri Zipf to the college Board of Directors. Zipf has taught at a community college and clearly understands the issues facing BMCC. She will bring new energy to the board and strive for stability.

Voters in Zone 4 have the opportunity to elect Virginia Rome, a highly qualified professional in her field at Children’s Services. The incumbent she is opposing has done very little, if anything, to bring harmony and positive relations back to BMCC.

It’s time for change.

Elizabeth Hutchison is the clear choice for Zone 3 voters. Hutchison is a professional who works for DEQ and would be a positive change on the board. Her opponent is a close ally to the current administration and was an ally of the previous one. It will be business as usual if Hutchison’s opponent is elected.

Vote for change on the BMCC board.
