PENDLETON – Louis Edward Rembe died Oct. 16, 2006, at Willowbrook Terrace. He was 88.

His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hermiston. Burial will follow at Hermiston Cemetery.

Mr. Rembe was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Chatsworth, Iowa, to Charles and Annie Rembe.

He married his wife, Ruth, on Nov. 24, 1938, in Elk Point, S.D. They lived in Sioux City, Iowa, for 60 years, where they were members of the Morningside Lutheran Church. They moved to Hermiston five years ago where they attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Mr. Rembe worked in construction all his life. He loved hunting, fishing and traveling.

Survivors includes daughters Patricia Grauer of Hermiston and JoAnn Baldwin of Florida; sister Marge Grau of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son James Rembe; sisters Georgia Madsen and Eve Landcaster; and brother Harold Rembe.

Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
