WALLA WALLA – Frank E. Webb, a watercolor artist from Athena and former resident of Pendleton, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Walla Walla General Hospital. He was 73.
A memorial inurnment service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Athena Cemetery.
Mr. Webb was born June 3, 1934, in San Francisco to Arlie and Mildred Roach Webb. He was raised and educated in the Willamette Valley. He later moved to Coos Bay, where he worked in logging.
Mr. Webb married Rosa Tackitt on Sept. 7, 1955, in Pendleton. He worked as a ward supervisor at Eastern Oregon State Hospital before he and his wife moved to Heppner, where he returned to logging, later becoming disabled. The family then moved to Pilot Rock until moving to Athena in 1975.
Mr. Webb enjoyed art, especially working with watercolors. He also enjoyed macrame, gunsmithing, poetry, mechanic work, hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife; daughter Collene Lopez; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Karen Law; sisters Joyce Farrow of Hermiston and Barbara Dwyer and Arlita Sams, both of Athena; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in his death by his parents.
Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.
