John Joseph Belloni Jr.

KENNEWICK – John Joseph Belloni Jr., 80, a 50-year member of the railroad union, died Sunday at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice in Kennewick.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in The Dalles.

Mr. Belloni was born Dec. 16, 1926 at Denver, Colo. to John Joseph and Marie C. (Schwartz) Belloni Sr. He was raised in Gardner, Colo. Mr. Belloni came to Oregon where he worked on power lines before working for the Union Pacific Railroad as a car man for 37 years. He lived in Kent, The Dalles, Hermiston, and finally Echo. He married Grace Marie (McIntire) Murphy in Deschutes County in Feb. 1968. He was a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. He enjoyed rock hounding, working on old cars, camping, the outdoors, and hunting and was a member of the NRA.

Mr. Belloni was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of Echo, son, Michael of Echo, daughter, Teresa Sjurset of Boise, brothers, Tom of Asotin, Wash., Steve of The Dalles, and Vince of Orange County, Calif.; sister, Cecilia Hosley of Hermiston and one grandson.
