Prep Roundup: Pendleton rolls over Madras, sets up crucial homestand

Published 8:17 am Sunday, February 10, 2008

MADRAS – The Pendleton girls’ basketball team picked up right where

Hermiston left off Friday and ran over the Madras White Buffalos 61-32

Saturday.

The win, which the team was expecting,

leads the Buckaroos (14-7, 6-5 IMC) into the season’s most significant

homestand where they will battle Mountain View, Bend and Hermiston for

as high as second place in the league, depending on other games.

    “They’re ready for that homestand,”

coach Ryan Sams said. “It’s a huge weekend where we can lock up a

playoff spot, and they’re two games we should win.”

    Lynette Minthorn posted monster numbers

Saturday, scoring 20 points in the first half and 24 total as the Bucks

emptied the bench on the Buffalos (1-20, 0-10 IMC).

Alexis Doutre played a strong second

scorer with 14 points, and Shanna Treloar distributed 12 assists.
