Mr. Rehder was born Feb. 12, 1956, in John Day to Robert and Janice (Cameron) Rehder of Ritter. He attended school in Long Creek. He worked various logging jobs as a young man and, at the age of 25, enlisted in the Army for four years, spending two of those years overseas in Korea as a Spec. E4 Mechanic. When he returned home from the service he purchased a ranch in Ritter, where he logged and raised cattle.

He married D’Anne MacArthur of Ukiah in 1988 in Lake Tahoe, Nev. He became an investor in buying and selling real estate, especially timbered ground. He had an ability and talent to recognize the value of timber on a piece of land, and enjoyed traveling all over the Northwest, seeking out parcels of property.

He loved to be involved in his girls’ school activities and functions, and enjoyed teaching them a love of the great outdoors. He loved animals, especially his dogs, who were his constant companions. Friends and family say, “No one ever met Bill that did not like his generous and caring demeanor.” He will be greatly missed by many.

Mr. Rehder is survived by his wife, D’Anne, and daughters Kristina and Kimberly, all of McMinnville; his mother, Janice of Ritter; brother Bob Rehder of Ritter; sisters Belinda Ellis of Lincoln City and Benita Britt of Baker City; father-in-law Donald MacArthur of Dayton; and six nephews and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Yamhill Sheriff Search and Rescue in McMinnville.
