PENDLETON – Lifelong Pendleton resident Michael J. “Mike” Banks, 31, died Monday, March 31, 2008, in a Pendleton care facility after an extended illness. Memorial graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12 in the Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.
Mr. Banks was born April 10, 1976, in Pendleton. He was the son of William and Mary (Cox) Banks. He was raised and educated in Pendleton, and worked for the Oregonian newspaper in the Pendleton area.
He greatly enjoyed video games, as well as the dogs he helped raise for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
He is survived by his parents, Mary Banks of Pendleton and William Banks of Anchorage, Alaska. Aunts and uncles in our area also survive.
He was preceded in his death by his grandparents.
