HERMISTON – Eola B. Lilly, 85, of Hermiston died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at her home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Echo Cemetery.

Mrs. Lilly was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Thatcher, Ariz., to David and Eliza Skinner Coleman. She was raised and attended school in Thatcher, graduating from Thatcher High School in 1942. She moved to San Diego, Calif., and worked in a garment factory making military uniforms during WWII.

She moved to Echo in the early 1950s and married Alvin “Bud” Parrish. After his death she married William “Ed” Lilly in 1967 in Stevenson, Wash. They moved to Hermiston.

She worked at Sears, the East Oregonian, and the Petal Pusher before going to work at Ron’s Sew and Vac, where she worked for many years as a seamstress and taught sewing classes. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was currently serving as captain of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group, the president of the Nimble Thimble Quilter’s Guild, and a former 4-H leader. For many years she served as a judge at area fairs for the homemaking entries. She will be remembered by her family the community for her many unique creations in sewing and handiwork, and for her music.

Mrs. Lilly is survived by her husband, Ed Lilly of Hermiston; daughters Angie Pedro of Hermiston, Arlene Fox of Phoenix, Ariz., and Linda Daniels of Ridgefield, Wash., 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Parrish; son Michael Orach; her parents; brothers David Envar, George Phelps and Abbott Arslan; and grandson William Allen Milne Jr.
