HERMISTON – Syble Ann Brown Ziegler, 78, of Hermiston died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at her home. A private gathering will be held.

Mrs. Ziegler was born Dec. 9, 1930, to William A. and Gracie L. Jackson Brown. She was raised in Arkansas and later in California, where she graduated high school. She then attended college before going to work for the Department of Motor Vehicles in California. She retired as the manager of the DMV in Redwood City, and later lived in Los Molinas, Calif. She continued to live there until moving to Hermiston in 1992.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Tarbet of Bradford, Maine; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
