PENDLETON – William A. Nirschl, 78, of Pendleton died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Willowbrook Terrace in Pendleton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5 at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop in Pendleton. A rosary will follow at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pendleton, with burial following in Olney Cemetery.
Mr. Nirschl was born May 22, 1931, in Heppner to Albert and Pearl (Owen) Nirschl. He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1949. He married Shirlee Remillard in 1950 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pendleton.

He lived in Pendleton his entire life, and worked for Comrie Automotive for 37 years, through three generations of the Comrie family.
Mr. Nirschl is survived by his wife, Shirlee Nirschl of Pendleton; sons David Nirschl of Pendleton and Dan Nirschl of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; brothers James Nirschl of Vancouver, Wash., and Robert Nirschl of Gilroy, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Diane Kempton in 2006.
