WESTON — The annual meeting of the Friends of Weston Library will feature Andrea K. Dobson, chair of the astronomy department at Whitman College.

According to a press release, Dobson teaches a broad range of courses. Her interests include solar-type stars, the history of cosmology, gender issues in science and science educational outreach. Dobson is said to deliver presentations that “entertain, educate and delight.”

The meeting is Tuesday, April 15, 6 p.m. at Weston Memorial Hall, 208 E. Main St. In addition to Dobson’s presentation, attendees can renew or register for membership with FOWL — there is no cost. A brief business meeting will follow.

FOWL was established in 2000 to support Weston Public Library programs and projects, and to help fund improvements to the library facility. For more information, contact library Director Heather Culley at 541-566-2378 or wcolibrary@cityofwestonoregon.com.
