PENDLETON — Blue Mountain Community College announced it’s about to reveal to the public its new Blue Mountain Equine Center.

The state-of-the-art facility will serve as the new home of the BMCC rodeo team and provide a space for students and educators across agriculture and equine sciences.

The college in a press release announced the center’s grand opening is April 30, 6-7 p.m. at 125 SW 18th St., Pendleton. The event is free and open to the public and includes a ribbon cutting ceremony and self-guided tours.

“This new center is more than a building — it’s an investment in our students, our programs and a one-of-a-kind community partnership geared toward supporting the regional workforce,” BMCC President Mark Browning said in the press release. “It’s where students will gain hands-on experience, educators will expand learning opportunities, and the BMCC rodeo team will proudly call home.”

According to the college press release, this project was made possible through the support and partnership of the Pendleton Round-Up, the city of Pendleton, InterMountain ESD, Umatilla County and the Port of Umatilla.

After the grand opening, community members and organizations can reserve the facility for events, clinics and training.
