Parents and kids — everybody dance!

PENDLETON — Two popular family events are slated in upcoming weeks for parents and kids from 5 to 14 years old. The 2025 Daddy Daughter Dance will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pendleton Convention Center, decorated for this year’s theme: “Starry Night.” Dads and daughters can enjoy dance music, the famous chocolate fountain, hors d’oeuvres, door prizes and a photo booth to capture the memory. On Saturday, April 19, the Mother Son Digital Disco returns for moms and their sons to show off their dance moves and game skills. Teens can try their hand at improv

PENDLETON — If your teen has a quick wit, they might enjoy honing their improv abilities at a four-session course offered by the Pendleton Center for the Arts. On Wednesdays, Feb. 5 to 26, from 4 to 5 p.m., J.J. Hill leads classes that build spontaneous storytelling skills as a team. Learn to think on your feet and find your comic timing. Community drumming open to teens and up

LA GRANDE — Adults as well as youth 12 and up can experience hand drumming within a group at Art Center East (ACE), 1006 Penn Ave. Weekly sessions of Community African Drumming will be held Tuesdays, 6 to 7 p.m., through March 11. Participants can explore the drumming rhythms of traditional West African music, no experience necessary. There is no cost. Call 541-624-2800 with questions.

Charlotte’s Web spins its tale onstage

BAKER CITY — Eastern Oregon Regional Theatre at 2101 Main St. is bringing the beloved children’s story “Charlotte’s Web” to the stage, March 14 to 23. Can Fern, Charlotte, Templeton and the cast of characters on the Zuckerman Farm work a miracle to save Wilbur the pig? Curtain time for Friday and Saturday shows is 6 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets for adults are $10, students are $5. To reserve seats, call 541-523-9652.

Josephy hosts Youth Arts Festival

JOSEPH — Save the date for the opening reception of the Wallowa Valley Youth Arts Festival. On Saturday, April 12, from noon to 4 p.m., the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture (403 North Main Street) will play host to the opening of this year’s exhibit of youth artwork. The event will also feature award ribbons, hands-on activities and musical performances by area youth ensembles. The exhibit will remain on display through April 21 during the Center’s normal hours.
