BOISE — The Red Cross of Montana, Idaho and Eastern Oregon has a new senior community disaster program manager.

The nonprofit humanitarian organization on Monday, Jan. 13, announced in a press release it prompted Jennifer Bivert to the position. She has served as the community disaster program manager for Central Idaho and Eastern Oregon.

“The senior community disaster program manager is a new position in our region and will work directly with Regional Disaster Officer Scott O’Connell and our community disaster program managers to help guide our disaster response and build community partnerships and resiliency,” according to the statement.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to accept this role with the American Red Cross of Idaho, Montana and Eastern Oregon. This position reflects not only my dedication to serving our communities but also my commitment to fostering resilience in the face of disasters,” she said in the announcement. “I look forward to collaborating with our exceptional team and working alongside community partners to enhance our preparedness efforts and ensure that we can provide the support needed during critical times.”

Bivert began her new duties Jan. 4. She lives in Payette, Idaho, and has been dedicated to the Red Cross mission since her teen years, starting as a disaster cycle services volunteer. She also has served in numerous disaster relief operations to assist in logistics fulfillment, according to the Red Cross.

“With her extensive experience in program management, community engagement and volunteer leadership, Jennifer will play a key role in strengthening our disaster preparedness and response efforts across the region,” O’Connell said in the press release. “Her leadership and dedication will undoubtedly enhance our mission to serve those in need.”

Bivert’s work to better the lives of others continues even when she’s not wearing the red vest — she created a junior baseball league for youths in her community to explore the sport at no cost to them and served on the board for Idaho BackCountry Veterans before starting her role as DPM last year.
