Local election coverage and more

Published 9:00 am Saturday, November 9, 2024

Dear readers,

Another general election is done, and our newsrooms covered an array of local outcomes. We published that reporting on our websites. But we heard from a few readers who were irked because there was no reporting of the election in the last print edition of the East Oregonian.

That’s because the EO’s press deadline is 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, and as you know, polls on the West Coast close at 8 p.m. But we are dedicating significant space in the upcoming print edition to local election reporting.

In addition to the election coverage, we have news on:
the legal action to block the sale of the lumber mill in John Day.
the herd of Texan longhorns at a ranch near Wallowa.
Eastern Oregon University’s increases in enrollment and student retention.

And that’s really just a smattering of what we’re covering that matters to you, our readers. For those reports and features and much more, please visit our websites.

Thank you for reading; if you have yet to subscribe, please consider it.
