Wildfire closes Interstate 84 in Eastern Oregon

PENDLETON — Interstate 84 in Eastern Oregon closed.
The Oregon Department of Transportation announced Wednesday, July 24, it shutdown I-84 from Pendleton to Ontario due to unpredictable fire activity.
“As of now, there is no estimate for when this or any other fire-impacted highways in Eastern Oregon will reopen,” according to the statement. “Travelers should be prepared for additional I-84 closures and are advised not to rely on this route.”
ODOT also advised drivers needing to travel east or west through Central and Eastern Oregon to use Highway 20 instead.
