Published 3:00 am Tuesday, April 30, 2024
Joseph Hull graduated from PHS then spread his wings for the next 35 years in the Portland/Seattle area where he became vice president of a multibillion-dollar construction company, leading projects with over 400-500 employees on site from owners to architects to subcontractors. As his career evolved, Joseph also developed projects in Denver, San Diego, Minneapolis and Dallas.
Joseph returned to Pendleton in 2017 as vice president of McCormack Construction and has led to the growth of the company four times over. He immediately immersed himself in service to his beloved hometown. As VP of McCormack Construction he has fought for economic growth for Pendleton by partnering with the city and leading developments here. Those projects include the new Pendleton fire station, airport terminal renovation, Round-Up retail, several hangar projects, new bus transit facility and more.

In 2017 Joseph also began serving on the Planning Commission and for the past two years has served as president. Joseph led the efforts as president of Round-Up City Development Corporation where he and Sen. Bill Hansell spent two years working diligently to procure $3 million from the state for a regional youth sports complex. Joseph is currently working on an incubator site for subcontractors’ small businesses.
As a leader, Joseph exhibits qualities of extreme grace under fire. He is decisive, inspirational, trustworthy, encouraging to lift people up, a clear communicator and resilient. Joseph Hull is not a politician and this is not a stepping-stone for a political career, as it is for some. He loves Pendleton and will never lead our community astray. Joseph has extraordinary focus on making Pendleton thrive for today and generations to come: focusing on quality of life, residential housing, economic development and community meetings with the mayor. Joseph Hull believes the honor of being mayor is a daily act of humble service.
I live and breathe this man every day and can tell you the desire, dedication and sleepless nights that he has given to promote and support growth for our community.
As you have just read, Joseph is no doubt the right choice for Pendleton’s mayor.
