LA GRANDE — The city of La Grande has nearly 30 open advisory board, committee and commission seats for the upcoming term.

Commissions with open positions include air quality; arts; budget; building board of appeals; community landscape and forestry; landmarks; library; parking, traffic safety and street maintenance; parks and recreation; planning; urban renewal; and Union County tourism.

Some are advisory commissions, which have specific requirements and expectations. These, along with more information on each committee and application deadlines, can be found at the city’s website or by calling Keri Quinn, assistant to the city manager, at 541-962-1309 or City Recorder Stacey Stockhoff at 541-962-1351.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18.

Applications can be mailed to the City of La Grande, 1000 Adams Ave., PO Box 670, Attn: Keri Quinn or Stacey Stockhoff, La Grande, OR 97850; emailed to kquinn@cityoflagrande.org or sstockhoff@cityoflagrande.org; or dropped off at the city manager’s office for consideration.

Staff will still accept applications after the deadline; however, these applications will be considered by the city council at its February regular session only if there are still vacancies.
