HERMISTON — Two days after it opened its doors in Hermiston, BestMed Urgent Care celebrated July 13 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re so excited to have you here in the community,” Chamber Director Val Hoxie said.

BestMed Urgent Care is an independently-owned clinic at 1623 N. First St. behind Delish Bistro. It has 95 clinics around the country in seven states. They tend to be in smaller areas with limited health care options.

“Our approach has always been to serve patients in rural communities where health care access can be challenging,” President Erica Hauser said.

The Hermiston clinic has 10 staff members, and its on-site medical provider, Jadie Wick Dolan, is a 2010 Hermiston High School graduate.

At the event, the staff at BestMed Urgent Care gave clinic tours and offered sub sandwiches.

For those unfamiliar with urgent care centers, BestMed’s website describes them as bridging “the gap between the emergency room and your primary care physician.” In other words, urgent care centers offer convenient alternatives to emergency rooms for non-life-threatening issues.

The clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
