IONE — Three city council members secured their positions on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022. In Ione, Jason R. Carson, Beverly Benson and Brian Spivey were elected to represent their community at council meetings.

Carson secured the vote of 98.5% of the population, earning him the Position 1 seat on the council. Carson received 135 votes.

Benson received votes from 68.3% of the community, granting her a winning campaign over her opponent, Sabrina Bailey Cave, and placing her in the council’s Position 2 placement. 108 ballots granted Benson the position.

Spivey, the third council member chosen on election night, took Position 4 with a 99.3% vote from the city, with 146 votes.
