PENDLETON — The National Weather Service expects patchy frost early Thursday, Oct. 27. It issued a travel advisory for winter-like conditions Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, for snow-covered Cascade and Blue Mountain passes above 3,500 to 4,000 feet.
The warning was mainly for 10 a.m. to noon, with snow showers expected to decrease in the afternoon.
The NWS said that snow-covered roadways may make travel difficult. It urged drivers to slow down, not to use cruise control and to leave plenty of space between vehicles.
The NWS website displayed TripCheck.com camera imagery of flurries on Oregon Highway 204 at Tollgate, where the temperature was 28 degrees F at 5:51 a.m., and of I-84 at Deadman Pass, where it was 33.8 F at 5:24 a.m.
The service expected a cool and windy day at 8:09 a.m.
