Umatilla County reports three COVID-19 deaths, raising death toll to 169

PENDLETON — Umatilla County Public Health reported three COVID-19 deaths on Monday, Nov. 15, raising the pandemic death toll to 169.
The disclosure comes as the county reports 28 new COVID-19 cases as average daily cases continue a steady decline, according to a press release from the health department. The county now averages nearly 18 COVID-19 cases per day, the lowest total since July 13.
The county’s 167th victim is a 62-year-old woman who tested positive Aug. 28 and died September 1 at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, Portland. She had unspecified underlying health conditions.
The county’s 168th victim is a 52-year-old man who tested positive Aug. 30 and died Aug. 30 at a private residence. Health officials have yet to determine whether he had underlying health conditions.
The county’s 169th victim is an 82-year-old woman who tested positive Oct. 19 and died Nov. 5 at Guardian Angel Homes, Hermiston. She had unspecified underlying health conditions.
The county has reported 14,972 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started, the press release said. That’s nearly 19% of all county residents.
