HERMISTON — Hermiston schools students can receive vaccinations, including for flu and COVID-19, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 4-7 p.m, at Hermiston High School.

Briana Cortaberria, district communications officer, said the school has hosted vaccinations in the past, but this will be the first time for COVID-19 vaccination shots. The COVID-19 vaccine is only available for students ages 12 and older, according to the announcement from the Hermiston School District.

The vaccinations are open only to students attending Hermiston schools, and the school district asks them to bring insurance information, if available.

This is a good time for the vaccination clinic at the school, because students and their parents will be there tonight for parent-teacher conferences, Cortabberria said. She added, when the school had done vaccinations in the past, between 40 to 50 people will volunteer for shots.

The vaccines will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to the parent/guardian. Parents that have insurance are asked to provide insurance information for billing purposes.
