HEPPNER — Oregon State Police reported an Oregon City man died Sunday, Sept. 16, in a motorcycle crash near Heppner.

Oregon State Police troopers and local emergency personnel responded at approximately 12:16 p.m. to the crash on Highway 207 near milepost 20C.

Edmund LaPlante, 70, was operating a Suzuki motorcycle heading south on the freeway, state police reported, when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the road. LaPlante suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Morrow County Ambulance and Oregon Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
